Notices Week 6 Term 3

Cross country for 5, 6 & 7 yr olds is being held this Thursday the 31st August.

Practise runs continue this week starting on Monday. Please send children to school with a pair of shoes suitable for running in.

Parent helpers would be greatly appreciated, please let me know if you can help.
We need screwdrivers, screws, hammers, nails, saws, timber, dowelling, a vice and measuring tapes to resource our new construction area. Mr Corbett has built us an amazing new carpentry table but we haven't any tools.

Any old tools would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

School production 2017.
Thank you to those able to help with our school production this year.
We are sending notices home this week asking students to bring in T-shirts in named bags in preparation for their role in the school production. Please check your child's bag this week.

We also need old belts that we can have (not returned as will be cut and glued into utility belts) to use as part of our soldiers costumes. These can be dropped off to Habitat 16 or 10.
Thank you!

We supported daffodil day this year with a mufti day and a gold coin donation going to the cancer society. The school created a giant mural using terracotta dishes and rocks.
Each student painted their own rock this week and we came together after assembly on the top court to create an enormous daffodil.

These are rocks created by Habitat 16.

This is our learning group Pikorua.
...hmm now just move this one here...
Our turn to add our rocks to the mural.

...now to make a gigantic picture...

Wow!
This is all 400 students creating a giant flower to support daffodil day!

Fractions fractions!

We are learning how to read and write simple unit fractions.

We have been using playdough, unifix cubes, teddy bears, shapes, and paper to explore halves, quarters, thirds. We have been learning about fractions of shapes, sets and numbers.

Today was too beautiful to be inside so we headed outside with a bucket of chalk to practise reading and writing fractions of shapes.

Keeping Ourselves Safe.

We are learning how to keep ourselves safe.

Today we looked at maps with Mrs Beech. She helped us to create our own town, we drew a picture of our house and important landmarks.
